About Recipe

Mokal is a tradition konkani sweet dish.

Ingredients
1 cup cucumber (with water) 
1/2 cup fresh coconut 
1/2 cup Jaggery 
1/2 cup idli rawa (easily  available  in market) 
1 tsp ghee
1 green chilli (optional) 
1/2 tsp salt 
1/2 tsp lemon juice 
1/4 tap lemon essence 
1 tbsp dry fruits
Method
  • Roast idli rava in ghee  for few minutes ( do not brown it ) let it cool down
  • Add Jaggery  in cucumber. Jaggery should  dissolve  in cucumbers water.
  • Mix all ingredients in cucumber mixture.. Roasted idli rava, fresh coconut, salt, lemon juice, fab lemon essence, chopped green chilli, dry fruits... Cover and keep aside for an hour.
  • Lineup the cake tin or cooker vessel with butter paper
  • Poure the mixture  into the tin spread  it evenly and decorate  with dry fruits.
  • Steam it around  20 to 25 min on medium  flame ( similar  to idli)
  • Turn off the gas and let it cool  for 10 min.
  • Run the knife  from sides and flip it over in a dish. Remove  butter paper and cut Mokal into pieces...
Assembling

Let it cool for 10 mins and cut it into pieces... Serve with morning tea or evening coffee as Snacks...
