INGREDIENTS
1. 400gm all purpose flour 2. 2tsp active dry yeast 3. 4tbsp powdered sugar 4. 1 tsp Fab oil soluble vanilla essence 5. 1/4 tsp salt 6. 2 tbsp melted butter 7. 2 egg yolks 8. 1 cup luke warm milk mixed with 1 tsp sugar chocolate topping: 1. 170 gm white chocolate 2. 1/8 tsp Fab oil soluble vanilla essence 3. 1 tsp butter 4. Food colour of choice |
METHOD
1. Sprinkle yeast over the warm milk and let it stand for 5 mins or until frothy.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, vanilla essence, salt, butter and egg yolks.
3. Pour the yeast mixture and mix using firm fingers until the dough comes together.
4. Knead it for about 15 mins until smooth.
5. Let it rest for about 1 & 1/2 hours or until it doubles.
6. Knock and deflate, and knead again for about 10 mins.
7. Gently roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a donut cutter and let the donuts sit out to rise again until double.
8. Heat oil in a deep fryer and fry the donuts in medium heat until golden brown.
9. Remove from oil and drain on a wire rack.
